WHAT WE DO
OUR MISSION:
To feed Sonoma Valley seniors and homebound residents in body and spirit by helping them retain self-sufficiency and independence with our meals delivered each weekday to their home.
OUR VISION:
To be an organization that supports seniors and homebound residents in need, while cultivating community relationships with local businesses and nonprofits who help feed Sonoma Valley's food insecure.
At Meals on Wheels of Sonoma, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is to offer a little support for those who need it most. Since our founding in 1974, we have been determined to make an impact in Sonoma by cooking and delivering between 23,400 - 31,200 meals per year to our elderly and homebound neighbors in the Sonoma Valley.
Each week day, 52 weeks per year, a team of volunteers prepares, cooks, and delivers 2 meals to clients in the Sonoma Valley, on 6 separate routes that are bounded by Madrone Road to the north, and Schellville to the south.
Our dedicated volunteers make and deliver meals on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July if those holidays fall on a week day.
HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE
We are committed to using nutritious foods for our meals as well as supporting local businesses in their efforts to donate food to non-profit organizations to feed people. We endeavor to make a positive impact in this important area of stewardship in helping with the statewide greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. Read more here.
